Save as

Depending on the active solution and your user permissions, this option can be 'Save to JewelFile', 'Save to DMS', 'Save to DMS and Message' or 'Save as View-only'.

When you save your JewelSuite Geomechanics solution for the first time, you need to choose between 'Save to DMS' and 'Save to JewelFile', both located under the Save As button. Saving to DMS requires a separate license to DMS, see Installing and setting up Data Management Solution. The difference between saving to JewelFile and saving to DMS can be summarized as follows:

• Save to JewelFile - The solution is saved as a single file (*.jewel). Solutions that are saved to JewelFile are versioned, meaning that you can restore previous versions of the solution if necessary.
• Save to DMS - The solution is saved to a secured environment which is set-up to support collaboration between users. For more information, see About JewelSuite Data Management Solution (DMS).

Every solution saved to DMS can be saved to JewelFile at a later stage, and vice versa.
